Acne Solution Types
Proactiv Solution: It would be unreasonable to speak about acne treatments without discussing Proactiv Solution. It is without a doubt the most widespread and most commonly used acne treatment on the market today. However, with all the marketing, referrals and sales pitches found in a search there aren’t many sufficiently informative reviews available on the product. So I have decided to remedy this.
Home Acne Solutions:
Almost everybody encounters acne at some stage in life. Without exception, all acne victims have one question in mind, “how do I get rid of these zits and have a normal skin like everybody else?” People are willing to try almost any remedy, however bizarre it may sound, to restore their skin to its pre-acne beauty instantly.
Tree oil: This is sometimes called the natural way to treat acne conditions. Tree oil works to kill the bacterium that causes acne. It also helps to reduce the inflammation caused by acne and the redness that appears from this condition. It basically works with the same results that you will get when using benzoyl peroxide but it will not dry out your skin as badly. Some studies have even explored the affects of acupuncture and acne. The way this works is by treating the cause of the problem. Acupuncture can help to correct the hormonal imbalance that increases acne.
Care and Prevention for Acne Prone Skin
Avoid over cleansing of skin: Drying products: Alcohol-based astringents and harsh cleansers can actually worsen the condition. When the skin becomes dry, acne prone skin ‘compensates’ by producing even more oil resulting in more pore clogging. Avoid picking at the skin: Squeezing and picking at blemishes can not only prolong the infection but cause permanent scarring. Avoid Greasy Creams and Makeup: Oily makeup and creams clog the pores of the skin resulting in more acne formation. Always purchase skin care products that state “non-comedogenic” to insure that they have been tested for acne prone skin.
What causes acne?
Hormones: For the majority of acne sufferers, the trouble begins at puberty, when the body begins to produce hormones called androgens. These hormones cause the sebaceous glands to enlarge, which is a natural part of the body’s development. In acne sufferers, however, the sebaceous glands are over stimulated by androgens, sometimes well into adulthood. Follicle fallout: Normally, dead cells within the follicle shed gradually and are expelled onto the skin’s surface. But in patients with overactive sebaceous glands and in nearly everyone during puberty — these cells are shed more rapidly. Mixed with a surplus of sebum, the dead skin cells form a plug in the follicle, preventing the skin from finishing its natural process of renewal.
While supermarkets and chemists offer a wide selection of medications for treating acne, it takes a few weeks for these creams and lotions to produce visible results. Several homegrown remedies have emerged that promise overnight relief from pimples and skin blemishes. The ingredients for these remedies come mostly off kitchen shelves or in bathroom cabinets making them easy to access. Needless to say, none of these remedies have passed clinical trials or have an FDA approval and must therefore be used with discretion.
