Los Angeles is the USA’s second largest city and is traditionally the place where young and hopeful actors travelled to realise the American Dream. Today, many actors live and work in this vibrant Californian city, which means there are lots of trendy and exclusive bars and restaurants.
Los Angeles is the film capital of the world. The movie business was born here. Generations of filmmakers spent their lives and dreams on the streets of this city. As the industry grew, the city became an integral character in many of their films.
Disneyland theme park, Warner Bros. Studios and Universal Studios theme park and studio tour are the most popular tourist attractions in the area, as well as various water parks such as Wild Rivers. LA is America’s theme park capital, but there are other less commercial attractions for the more cultured tourist.Los Angeles was one of the cities to pass gay rights bills during the 1970s (1979 after years of pressure from prominent performing arts members), seeing how the earliest homophile organization, Mattachine, was formed there in 1950, and the first city where AIDS was discovered and focused upon during the 1980s.
